The Mini System Pro uses separate guns for each step. The Mini System Pro dual gun will provide a precise 50/50 balance of the G4 and G5 products for brilliant chrome plating. It is limited to small parts. If you need to plate larger parts bigger than a hubcap you will need our Master System Pro™

These rusted parts from a 57 Pontiac would normally have had to have been discarded. What started out as junk turned into a fabulous chrome bumper restoration project. Cosmichrome allowed them to be restored to their original beauty. The parts had to be restored as one would do for normal paint. The rust had to be removed, body filler applied, and then a catalyzed primer over the finished body filler. The primer should then be sanded to 1000-1200 grit to get it smooth for the Cosmichrome base coat. Then the normal Cosmichrome process is done to the parts.

Our new Cosmichrome Base Coat Cleaner will be available in June. It’s the first and only spray chrome base coat cleaner on the market. It safely and thoroughly removes contaminants such as fingerprints and overspray from the base coat without having to reapply the base coat. It does not leave a residue and the silver can be plated without worries of contaminants. Most spray chrome base coats can’t be touched at all let alone cleaned if needed. Cosmichrome is tough! If you accidentally touch the base coat on one of your parts you can simply clean off the contaminants and proceed with the plating process!

The substrate is plated by immersion into the solution for less than one or two minutes. The pieces are then removed from the gold bath rinsed and dried. Finished. The solution is so easy to use that anyone can be an expert gold plater.

SIMPLE TO INSTALL
InstaGold Flash works via immersion therefore complicated electrical connections are obsolete. You no longer need rectifiers, anode and cathode rods, barrels, danglers, and racks.

In the gold plating game . . . The more you use – the more you lose. GOLD SAVINGS Due to the highly advanced chemical technology of InstaGold Flash only 1/3 of the normal amount of gold is used in the plating process. Operating at gold concentrations as low as 3/4 of a pennyweight per gallon, gold losses are negligible. The equipment needed for the immersion process is a simple basket with no contact points, eliminating refining losses normally associated with racks and barrels. With InstaGold Flash, plating at a thickness of only two micro-inches will give you the durability normally achieved with six micro-inches.

Gold Concentration: 

IGF is the only gold bath known in the industry that can plate at extremely low gold concentrations. The initial start-up usage concentration of gold is only 1 dwt. (1.5 g) per gallon. However, the industry regularly abuses this rule and operates at an average concentration of 1 gram per gallon to as low as 0.3 grams per gallon.   This low gold concentration virtually eliminates gold drag-out losses. Your gold stays in the bath where it belongs. IGF plates as fast or faster than baths containing twenty times the gold. No kidding! 

Gold should be added as needed. It is obvious when gold needs to be added when the color is pale, and takes a longer time to deposit.

Be prepared to be amazed!

This record breaking spray chrome project could only have been accomplished with Cosmichrome. It’s a 50 ft tall replica of the NFL Lombardi Trophy. It’s installed in the atrium of Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers.

An exhaustive and thorough search by the project director led him to the decision to use Cosmichrome. Samples were requested from all the various spray chrome suppliers and none of the samples but Cosmichrome met their standards for beauty, durability and the ability to even begin to accomplish this amazing project. The project was completed by Danny Gokey of Insane Paint. They created a really amazing video of their teamwork and you can enjoy it here.

The project took several months to complete and the finished Lombardi statue is installed is seen by thousands of fans during home games.

The latest update to the Cosmichrome base coat features a fantastic new feature. If someone accidentally touches the base coat you clean our spray chrome base coat with distilled water and a damp paper towel. Until now the part would dave to be sanded and sprayed with base coat again. It’s simple and easy.

If someone accidentally touches the base coat after it is dry you can clean off the fingerprints without any harm or damage to the final finish. All you have to do is wipe the fingerprints off with a soft paper towel that has been wet with distilled water. Then re-flame the base coat and proceed with plating as usual. This base coat is also extremely easy to apply and is very resistant to runs and drips. As usual the adhesion of the metal and top coat are exceptional.

This new feature solves one of the more demanding requirements of applying spray chrome coatings. Typically their base coats are very sensitive to accidental touches and other types of minor contamination. This would often lead to frustration when an curious coworker would decide to handle and inspect the parts being coated. Now one can just clean the fingerprints off rather than having to sand and reapply the base coat.

Additionally Cosmichrome base coat is still the only base coat that can’t be over dried. The dryer it is the better the adhesion of the metal and top coat. Other products are much more sensitive to over drying and loss of adhesion.

You can let our base coat dry all weekend or even all week and there will be no loss of metallic adhesion.

As always, Cosmichrome is the only spray chrome product guaranteed not to turn yellow. That is just one of the many reasons it is the spray chrome of General Motors, Andretti Autosport and West Coast Customs to name a few.
